Handcrafted out of raw, organic solid pieces of wood and leather. Cancan is carved carefully, visually showing the craftsmanship of scraping, chiseling and sanding the intricate patterns of the wood grain. The smooth precision of the carved lines brings out the aroma of freshly cut wood. Each pole has been designed with an angle to safely place all your cherished items. Finishing of the piece with a detail of rich leather rope wrapped around the wood to tie together these materials as one.

StudioGud. Gud was founded by the designers Alexandre Kumagai and Paulo Neves, a collective based in Porto - Portugal. In 2010, the “gud” idea began to take shape and both decided it was time to carry out this collective project.

Designer Inspiration:
The curves of the coat hanger aim to convey the movements of the ‘cancan’ dance. The four identical pieces are tied up together with a single leather cord, which creates a visual pattern reminiscent of the corsets used by the dancers. Traditionally ‘cancan’ dancers must be 1,70m in height, which is the same heigh of the coat hanger.
